BILLING INFO FOR FRANCE STUDENTS:
When is payment due?
The payment deadline for all ASA programs is the same as the application deadline. For example, if the application deadline for your program is June 1, then the full payment deadline is also June 1.
Once ASA has officially accepted you to the program, we will send you and/or your parents an invoice for the full amount. Payment is due in full by the published deadline for your program, unless financial aid is being issued for you via a Financial Aid Consortium Agreement.
Please read on to find out how students receiving financial aid can defer payment. Please see our Financial Aid page to find out
what is a Consortium Agreement and what kind of financial aid can be used to study abroad.
Payment Guidelines for Students Receiving Financial Aid
If you plan to pay for part or all of the program using financial aid, ASA must receive a signed Consortium Agreement from your home institution's financial aid office before the payment deadline,
as well as our 2 Financial Aid Certification Forms which will tell us how much financial aid you will receive. Your financial aid amount listed on your
University Financial Aid Certification Form can be deferred and paid later, when your financial aid is disbursed. You are required to forward us the payment
within 10 days of receiving your financial aid disbursement.
Any portion of the fees NOT covered by your financial aid is due by the regular payment deadline. Be sure to make the necessary payment rrangements with your parents and/or your school's financial aid office, well in advance.
How should I submit my payment?
Payments for all program fees and deposits can be submitted in the form of a personal or cashier's check or money order, made payable to Academic Studies Abroad.
You can also pay your balance with an e-check or credit card by clicking here.
There is no additional fee for paying with an e-check. You may pay a maximum of $5,000.00 with a credit card. If you pay with a credit card, there is an additional fee of 3.95% of the amount charged, plus $1.00.
Housing Deposit
Students who have been accepted to one of ASA's programs in France must submit a non-refundable housing deposit of $750 along with their signed Offer Letter,
within 2 weeks of being accepted. Your place on the ASA program will not be 100% secured for you until we receive this deposit. Once ASA has received your completed application, we will mail you our acceptance packet, along with your Offer Letter and invoice for the $750 housing deposit.
Our housing affiliates require this deposit in order to secure housing for you. In addition, the documents that you will need in order to apply for your Student Visa will not be issued until your housing deposit is received.
The housing deposit must be paid with a check made payable to Academic Studies Abroad. Once paid, the deposit will be deducted from your balance owed, and ASA will mail you an updated invoice. Payment in full is still due by the published deadline, unless financial aid is being issued via a Financial Aid Consortium Agreement.
NOTE: If you apply just before or after the deadline (for example, you submit your application on March 20 or later and the deadline is April 1),
then ASA will simply bill you for the full program fees, rather than billing you separately for the housing deposit, since your full payment is due by the deadline anyway.
If you have any questions, please contact ASA!
