Study Abroad in France
What's Included in the ASA France Programs?

ALL ASA PROGRAMS IN FRANCE INCLUDE...

ACADEMIC CREDITS: Students who receive pre-approval from their home institution can transfer the credits they earn in France to their home institution. It is possible to earn 15-18 credits per semester program and 3-6 credits per summer program.

OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT: An official transcript from the Institute for American Universities will be sent to your home institution, upon completion of the program.  If your school requires an American transcript, please click here. Please note that an official transcript from IAU is included with the program; students requiring a U.S. transcript must pay an extra fee.

ROOM AND BOARD: Students live with French host families. This includes daily breakfast and 6 dinners per week, plus one load of laundry per week, for the official period of the program.

TUITION: The cost of the ASA France program includes full tuition at The Aix Center, the Marchutz School of Art, or Le Centre d'Avignon.

AIRPORT PICK-UP: Group ground transportation for Aix-en-Provence students is provided from the Marseilles airport for all students who arrive there on the official arrival date, by the designated time.  Group ground transportation for Avignon students is provided from the Avignon TGV train station. For details on when you should arrive in order to make the airport pick-up, read our FAQs.

MEDICAL INSURANCE: Medical insurance is provided for the official period of the program. There is no deductible.

INTERNET ACCESS: ASA students will have free wireless Internet access on campus. Students are encouraged to bring their laptops in order to take advantage of this.

CELL PHONE: All ASA France students receive a cell phone to use while they are in France. (The cost of all phone calls is the responsibility of the student.)

EXCURSIONS: 1 overnight excursion and 2 day excursions are provided with each semester program. 2 day excursions are included with each summer program.

ENTRANCE FEES: ASA covers entrance fees to museums and other sites of interest on all organized excursions.

ORIENTATION: About a month before departure, students receive our pre-departure orientation guide that tells you everything you need to know before you go. ASA also sends parents our Parent Guide to Study Abroad after the student has been accepted. Students will also be given a detailed on-site orientation, upon arrival in their host country.

ISIC CARD: Students will receive an International Student ID Card along with their orientation guide. This card gives students discounts on travel, shopping, museums, and much more.
