PHOTOCOPY OF PASSPORT
If you have not yet submitted a photocopy of your passport to ASA, please do so immediately. Passport copies must be MAILED to ASA. Faxed passports come out too blurry to read.

If you don't yet have a passport, apply for one right away! Lately, they have been taking about 6 weeks to process by regular service. Don't forget you will need your passport in hand in order to apply for your Student Visa (if applicable - see below), and you have to apply for your student visa 60 days prior to departure, so you may need to have your passport EXPEDITED in order to get your passport in time to apply for your visa. We recommend that you have your passport expedited if your departure date is 3 months away or less.

Your passport must not expire for at least 3 months after your proposed return date from abroad. Please check your passport's expiration date to be sure. Do not plan any international travel during the months prior to your study abroad program, because you will have to leave your passport at the Consulate while they process your visa.
