Aracena is a southern hill town, 2,238 feet above sea level, near the border of Spain and Portugal, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is surrounded by olive, almond and fig plantations, and is well known for it's great climate. It is also renowned for it's ham, which many say is the world's best. In the town's center is the opening to the Gruta de las Maravillas, one of the largest caves in Europe. It has a pretty steady tourist population, but the town itself is home to only about 7,000.
