Florence University of the Arts is an Italian institution of higher
education situated in the historic center of Florence. Modeled
on a liberal arts curriculum, FUA offers Fine Arts, Liberal Arts,
Global Studies, Italian Studies & Linguistics, Life Studies and
Human Services, and Sciences & Mathematics. Each area is
divided into specific departments offering a wide array of
courses offered to students.
Aimed at both American undergraduates requiring academic
credit as well as international students from Asia, Europe, and
South and Central America, the program offers high quality,
structured educational courses.
Housing
Students live in shared student apartments that are centrally
located and within walking distance of the University. No
meals are included, as each apartment has a fully equipped
kitchen.
Academic Buildings
The school’s location and facilities are a vital part of
Florentine civic, historical, and cultural life. Housed in
historic palazzi throughout the center of Florence, the
institution provides breathtaking spaces in which students
breathe history and create new contributions to
contemporary Florence through their studies. The locations
include Palazzo Guicciardini Strozzi, Palazzo Doni, Palazzo
Ramirez de Montalvo, and Villa Brilli Peri.
Student Services
The Student Services Department was created for all
students taking courses at Apicius and FUA. Extracurricular
activities such as sports, music, cinema, connecting with
Italian culture, and journalism are offered free of charge, as
well as a small gym open to all enrolled students. City
walks and excursions to the hidden spots and specialties of
Florence are organized weekly, as well as day trips to
towns in Tuscany. The Academic Field Trip Department
organizes weekend trips to exciting destinations through
Europe and Italy.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are available to committed students
who wish to explore social contributions to the Florentine
community
