Camargue

Camargue is the land south of Arles, France. It is between the Mediterranean Sea, and the two branches of the River Rhone. With an area of 360 sq. miles, the Camargue Delta is the largest in western Europe. It is a haven for wild birds, and is protected as a regional park. It is home to more than 400 species of birds. It is one of the only places in Europe that is habitable for the greater flamingo. It is also the home of ferocious mosquitos, perhaps the worst in France.
