Academic Studies Abroad Program |
ASA cannot accept applications from outside the United States or Canada. All classes and programs are at the undergraduate level. Note to pre-college applicants: Applications from high school graduates who have not yet attended college are considered on a case-by-case basis. All GPA requirements listed below are for current college students and college graduates. In addition to the regular application requirements and documents, for pre-college applicants, we generally look for a higher GPA than the minimum and ask for 2 letters of recommendation, in an effort to ensure proper preparation for a college program. All pre-college applicants are encouraged to speak with an ASA representative about their options! Australia - Walkabout Program Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have graduated from high school. Unofficial transcript is ok. Requires 4 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. London, England - Regent's College, Regent's American College London Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have completed at least one semester of study at a U.S. university, college, or community college. Students who have already graduated are not eligible for this program. Unofficial transcript is ok. Requires 4 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. Oxford, England - Oxford Brookes University Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have completed at least one semester of study at a U.S. university, college, or community college. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. MUST SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Requires 4 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 3.0. Dublin, Ireland - Griffith College Dublin Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have completed at least one semester of study at a U.S. university, college, or community college. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. MUST SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Requires 4 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. Florence, Italy - The Institute at Palazzo Rucellai Must be at least 18 years of age. Open to students with any level of Italian. Must have completed at least two semesters of study at a U.S. university, college, or community college. Students who have already graduated are not eligible for this program. MUST SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Requires 6 passport photos. GPA MUST BE 2.75 OR HIGHER (firm). Rome, Italy - The Umbra Institute's Pantheon Center Must be at least 18 years of age. Open to students with any level of Italian. Must have completed at least two semesters of study at a U.S. university, college, or community college. Students who have already graduated are not eligible for this program. MUST SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Requires 6 passport photos. GPA MUST BE 2.75 OR HIGHER (firm). Sevilla, Spain I - Universidad de Sevilla Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have graduated from high school. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. Unofficial transcript is ok. Must have an intermediate or advanced level of Spanish. Intermediate level requires 3 semesters or 4 quarters of college Spanish, or equivalent, including at least one high intermediate or advanced Spanish course taught in Spanish (i.e. high 200/low 300 level). Advanced level requies 4 semesters or 6 quarters of college Spanish, or equivalent. Requires 4 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5 for the regular program. To study with Spaniards, you must have near-native fluency in Spanish and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Sevilla, Spain II - Centro Andaluz de Estudios Empresariales (CEADE) Must be at least 18 years of age. Open to students with any level of Spanish. Must have graduated from high school. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. MUST SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Requires 4 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. (Applications from high school graduates who have not yet attended college are considered on a case-by-case basis, and all applicants must submit 2 letters of recommendation, official transcript, and a letter of intent along with the rest of their application materials.) Barcelona, Spain I - Universitat de Barcelona (UB) Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have graduated from high school. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. Unofficial transcript is ok. Must have an Intermediate or Advanced level of Spanish (3 semesters or 4 quarters of college Spanish or equivalent for Intermediate level; 4 semesters or 6 quarters of college Spanish or equivalent for Advanced level). Requires 4 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. Barcelona, Spain II - Barcelona Center for Education Abroad (BCEA) Must be at least 18 years of age. Open to students with any level of Spanish. Must have completed at least two semesters of study at a U.S. university, college, or community college. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. MUST SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Requires 6 passport photos. GPA MUST BE 2.75 OR HIGHER (firm). Barcelona, Spain III - Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB) Must be at least 17 years of age. (If you are 17, you must turn 18 while you are in Barcelona.) Open to students with any level of Spanish. Must have graduated from high school. Unofficial transcript is ok. Requires 4 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. (Applications from high school graduates who have not yet attended college are considered on a case-by-case basis, and all applicants must submit 2 letters of recommendation, official transcript, and a letter of intent along with the rest of their application materials.) Madrid, Spain I - Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (semester program) Must be at least 18 years of age. Open to students with any level of Spanish. Must have completed at least 1 semester of study at a U.S. university, college, or community college. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. MUST SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Requires 8 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5 for beginner level and 2.7 for intermediate and advanced levels. Madrid, Spain II - Universidad Complutense de Madrid (summer program) Must be at least 18 years of age. Open to students with any level of Spanish. Must have graduated from high school. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. Unofficial transcript is ok. Requires 8 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. (Applications from high school graduates who have not yet attended college are considered on a case-by-case basis, and all applicants must submit 2 letters of recommendation, official transcript, and a letter of intent along with the rest of their application materials.) Salamanca, Spain - Universidad de Salamanca Must be at least 17 years of age. Open to students with any level of Spanish. Must have graduated from high school. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. Unofficial transcript is ok. Requires 4 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. Buenos Aires, Argentina - Universidad de Belgrano Must be at least 18 years of age. Open to students with any level of Spanish. Must have graduated from high school. Viña del Mar, Chile - Universidad de Viña del Mar Must be at least 18 years of age. Open to students with any level of Spanish. Must have graduated from high school. Aix-en-Provence, France - The Aix Center and The Marchutz School of Art Must be at least 18 years of age. Open to students with any level of French. Must have graduated from high school. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. MUST SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Requires 8 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. (Applications from high school graduates who have not yet attended college are considered on a case-by-case basis, and all applicants must submit 2 letters of recommendation, official transcript, and a letter of intent along with the rest of their application materials.) Avignon, France - Le Centre d'Avignon Must be at least 18 years of age. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. MUST SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Must have completed at least one semester of college. Must have an advanced level of French. Must have completed 4 semesters of college French (or equivalent) and have at least a 3.0 GPA in that field. Your letter of recommendation must be from a French professor. Requires 8 passport photos.
