ASA offers the following programs in Madrid:
1) Semester/Academic Year program at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, open to all levels
2) Summer program at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, open to all levels

Credits:
Students can receive up to 12-18 semester credits during one semester. Students can receive 5-6 semester credits during a summer session. Credits and final transcript are issued by the Spanish university you attend.

Language:
The Universidad Francisco de Vitoria offers courses taught in both English and Spanish. At the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, all courses are taught in Spanish but for any language level.

Academic Focus:
1) Semester at the UFV: Spanish language, Spanish culture, Business, Humanities, Internship for Intermediate and Advanced level students
2) Summer program at the Complutense: Intensive Spanish language program, open to any level

Curriculum:
1) Semester program at the UFV: All students begin with a one-month intensive Spanish Language and Culture program which will earn each student 5-6 semester credits. After the intensive program has ended, students take elective courses. Intermediate and Advanced level students may also apply for an internship for credit.
2) Summer program at the Complutense: All students take a placement exam on the first day of class, which will determine their level. All students take Spanish Grammar, Practice of Communicative Skills, Written Comprehension & Expression, and Oral Comprehension & Expression.

Internship:
Semester students at the UFV with an Intermediate or Advanced level of Spanish may apply for an internship for credit. For full details on internships, click here.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Semester students at the UFV will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of volunteer opportunities (not for credit). A minimum Intermediate level of Spanish is required. Click here for details about volunteering.

Housing:
Madrid semester students can choose to live with Spanish host families who provide daily breakfast and dinner and laundry once per week or in a shared student apartment* (no meals included). (Madrid summer students who choose the host family option will be provided with 3 meals a day and laundry once per week.)
