At Griffith College Dublin, classes or courses are called "modules." An undergraduate degree program is called a "course." GCD offers courses in several areas, and each course has a set curriculum of modules.

The curriculum is divided into 3 or 4 Levels (sometimes called Phases or Stages).

Level 1 = Generally have no pre-requisites. Roughly equivalent to 100-level.
Level 2 = May require pre-requisites from Level 1. Roughly equivalent to 200-level.
Levels 3/4 = Students must have the necessary pre-requisites for this level. Levels 3/4 are roughly equivalent to 300 and 400-level.

All modules are worth 4 semester credits (equivalent of 6 quarter units), unless noted otherwise. Students are expected to take 4 modules per semester. With special permission, some students may take 5 modules. All module offerings are subject to change.

Griffith College does not post the module timetable until just before the semester begins. Therefore, all students should have a total of 8 modules approved ahead of time, in case of a schedule conflict later on.
