The Aix Center of Humanities and Social Sciences - Course Offerings (Summer 2012)
All students MUST get a total of 4 classes approved by their academic advisor, in case of changes in course availability or schedule conflicts. That way, if a class is full or cancelled, or if the classes you want to take meet at the same time, you'll already have back-up classes that you know your school will accept. When you pre-register for classes (this happens after you're accepted), you will have to list a total of 4 possible classes on your registration form, in order of preference.
The Aix Center now offers 3 different summer sessions: 1, 6-week session and 2, 3-week sesssions. (Sessions run concurrently - please see link above to Program Dates.) Students attending the 6-week session MUST take at least 6 credits (maximum of 9). Students attending a 3-week session can take a maximum of 3 credits.
Students at The Aix Center attending the 6-week summer session now have the option to take up to 9 credit hours. (Note: 9-credit program carries additional cost - please see link above to Prices.) Your third course must be either one of the 2, 3-week intensive French language sessions (either session) OR a supplementary 3-week art course. Please note, the supplementary art courses are not available on their own or for students doing only a 3-week session; they are only available as a 3rd course for Aix Center students attending the 6-week session.
Aix Center students can also enroll in the French Honors Program during the 6-week session to complete either 6 or 9 credits. (French Honors Program available during the 6-week session only).
During the summer sessions, it is not mandatory to take a French language class. All classes are worth 3 credits each, unless otherwise noted.
All courses with a course number that begins with FRE are taught in French. All other courses are taught in English, unless otherwise noted.
