SEMESTER COURSE OFFERINGS
As John Cabot University has such a large number of courses, only the subject areas are listed below. To see Course Descriptions, Course Offerings and Timetable, please click on the links below.
Semester students take 4-6 courses per semester, for a minimum of 12 credits and a maximum of 17.
Unless otherwise indicated, all courses carry 3 semester hours of credit (45 contact hours).
It is not mandatory to take
Italian language, but it is strongly recommended that students take at least one
Italian language class because it will assist you greatly
during your daily life in Italy. Most courses taught at JCU require the use of personal computers. While PCs are available in the computer labs, students are strongly urged to bring a laptop with them in order to facilitate their course work.
All students MUST get DOUBLE the number of courses approved by their academic advisor
than they actually plan to take, in case of changes in
course availability or schedule conflicts. That way, if a course is full or cancelled, or if
2 of the courses you want to take meet at the same time,
you'll already have back-ups that you know your school will accept.
Please note: a limited number of classes have additional lab fees for academic field trips
that must be paid by the student.
-Courses numbered 100-299 are freshman, sophomore, or other introductory level courses.
-Courses numbered 300-399 are junior or senior level courses, requiring background in the material.
-Courses numbered 400-499 are senior level courses. Students should ensure that they have completed the prerequisites listed at the end of many course descriptions.
Course offerings are subject to change. The University reserves the right to cancel courses with insufficient enrollment, and the curriculum is subject to change as a result of ongoing curricular revisions and program development.

timetable, shortly before the beginning of the term (link below).

has not yet published the course timetable for that session. Please check back with

Information about Honors Courses:
Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher may enroll in an Honors course.
The course is taken as a regular JCU class with the normal course work determining your grade.
However, students who take the class as an Honors class will have additional educational
activities (papers, projects, etc.) and mentoring by the professor. Upon successful
completion of the coursework, students will receive 4 academic credits, and the course
will be designated on their transcript with an "H." From time to time, honors
classes may also be designed specifically for honors students, on a case by
case basis. Courses with an H in the course code may be taken as an Honors course.
