Any program can get you to a country and register you at the university. It takes a certain kind of program, however, to provide you with all the tools necessary to ensure that your experience is both memorable and fulfilling. That's why ASA provides our Florence and Rome students with:
Housing in fully furnished, shared students apartment in the heart of Florence or Rome
A pre-departure orientation guide that will prepare you for studying abroad in Italy
Classes taught by real professors with advanced degrees
Personal attention to any academic goals you may have
Health insurance
A cell phone with free incoming calls when you're in Italy
And much, much more!
Being Prepared
We understand that being prepared is important to a successful experience. That's why our team has labored over the years to refine our programs. We help you prepare with:
- a detailed orientation guide mailed to you prior to departure
- a detailed on-site orientation program when you arrive in your host country
- an experienced staff willing to answer all of your questions
Classes
Students on ASA's Florence and Rome programs take classes with other American students who are also there to learn Italian language and culture.
This means that you will not only get to see Italian life firsthand, but will get to meet and hang out with other students who are experiencing life in Rome for the first time as well.
The classes are small and are taught by full professors, not teaching assistants. Our students can take classes in a variety of subjects and receive credits at their home university for the classes taken in Florence or Rome.
The ASA Staff
The ASA team is a group of people who are well-traveled, experienced in foreign education, always there to assist you and best of all, they are people who have studied abroad themselves. We know what it's like to move into a new city, in a new country, with a new language and it's this first-hand experience that makes us true professionals when it comes to studying abroad.
We want to see all of our students leave our program feeling that they have had the best experience of their lives. For some of our students, this will be their first time outside of the United States and their first exposure to a new culture. We recognize that this is not always an easy adjustment, so our orientations are designed to help take away some of the surprise and guesswork that often leads to anxiety. No question or request is too small, so please, call us toll-free at (888) 845-4ASA with any question that you may have. We look forward to speaking with you soon!
