Applications are submitted through our online system, called VIA. To continue, please create your Via account, as follows.
- Once your Via account is created and you’re logged in, Via will prompt you set up your profile. To set up your profile, you’ll need to provide us with some basic info, such as your contact information, and answer some questions about what kind of program you are looking for. This will help you locate the perfect program for you!
- Once your profile is complete and you know where you want to go, here’s what to do next! 1) Find the listing for the program you want to apply to. 2) Click the link to apply. 3) Fill out the application. 4) Upload/submit the required paperwork. 5) Wait to hear from ASA regarding your admission to the program. (Application processing time begins once we have received ALL required documents. This takes approximately 3 business days, except for the ASA Cambridge program, which can take up to 3 weeks.)
- Please note that program listings are separated by host institution and term. Summer and Semester programs in the same location will each have different listings. (Ex: The Barcelona Summer program and Barcelona Semester program each have different listings.) In addition, if we offer more than one host institution in a city, each will have its own listing. (Ex: ASA at London South Bank University and ASA at University of the Arts London each have different listings. Then, they are further separated by term.) If the application you are looking for is not showing, or you don’t see the term in which you plan to go abroad, please message the program contact on the listing and ask them when it will be open.
If you have already created an account, or you’re told that your email address is already in use, please DO NOT create a new account with a different email address! Instead, please follow the steps to retrieve or change your password. Retrieving a forgotten password will be much less work for you in the long run than setting up a new account!

UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE STUDENTS: DO NOT USE YOUR UNH EMAIL ADDRESS WHEN YOU CREATE YOUR VIA ACCOUNT. You must use an alternate email (such as Gmail). This is because UNH also uses Via as their application software, so UNH students must maintain 2 Via accounts – one for UNH using your UNH email address, and one for ASA using an alternate email address.
