ESADE Business School – Barcelona Summer Program

**Students are advised to APPLY EARLY for the best course selection, as courses are assigned on a first come, first served basis, and there are a limited number of seats per subject. Students who wait until the Application Deadline to apply may not have all courses available to them.

The ESADE Business School is a private university, founded in 1958. ESADE is the first Spanish university to be awarded AACSB accreditation as well as EQUIS and AMBA. ESADE courses are primarily project based, making for an interactive and engaging learning environment. Classes include company visits and meetings with corporate and social leaders. Past class groups have visited companies such as HP, Nissan, Mango, Desigual, and others.

ESADE offers two, 4-week summer sessions, which can be combined to make an 8-week summer program. Students will take 2 courses during a 4-week session, so those who sign up for both 4-week sessions will take a total of 4 courses over 8 weeks.

Summer classes at ESADE Business School are held Monday through Friday at ESADE’s Creapolis Campus, located in Sant Cugat town, which is about 30 minutes away from Barcelona city center by metro (subway). ASA program housing is conveniently located near the metro, and it takes most students about 40 minutes to get to school by subway.

The ESADE course offerings (listed below) consist of Business, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Spanish Language, and more.  It is not mandatory to take Spanish Language on this program.

All courses are taught English (except for Spanish Language).

Students MUST have DOUBLE the number of courses approved by their home institution than they actually plan to take. Complete details on course approvals can be found below. Having extra courses approved means that if a course is full or cancelled, or if the courses you want to take meet at the same time, you’ll have back-ups that your school will accept. ESADE will not process your registration if this requirement is not met.

Course Offerings

All courses are worth 5 ECTS (approximately 3 U.S. semester credits).  2 ECTS = 1 U.S. semester credit.  (ECTS = European Credit Transfer System.)

It is optional to take Spanish Language on the ESADE Summer program. Students who enroll in a Spanish language course will take a placement test. The placement test will determine which Spanish level you are placed in.

If you enroll in one, 4-week session: You will take ONE course from the “Core Tracks” listed below + ONE course from the “Elective Tracks” listed below.

If you enroll in both 4-week sessions:  You will complete a total of 4 courses, as follows.
