Language Eligibility: For High Intermediate and Advanced levels of Spanish. All classes are taught in Spanish.
-High Intermediate level must have completed at least 4 semesters or 6 quarters of college level Spanish.
All students will take a placement test to ensure they meet the language requirement for this program.

Total contact hours: 120 per summer session. 15 contact hours = 1 semester credit.
Possible U.S. Credits: 8 semester credits per summer session.
Final transcript is issued by the Universidad de Belgrano. Classes are taken with other American and foreign students.
Buenos Aires, Argentina: Universidad de Belgrano – Summer Course Offerings
We are pleased to offer a 4-week Latin American Studies program in Buenos Aires at the Universidad de Belgrano. Students will take 2 classes (listed below) for a total of 120 contact hours (equivalent to 8 U.S. semester credits). Classes are designed for High Intermediate and Advanced Spanish levels. Students will have to take a placement test online to ensure they are eligible.
Each class meets 4 times per week for 2.5 hours per class session, for a total of 60 contact hours per course. Please remember that because Argentina is in the southern hemisphere, summer in the U.S. is actually winter there. The winter season in Buenos Aires is quite mild, with temperatures typically in the 40’s.
In addition to the Latin American Studies summer program, we also offer an intensive Spanish Language summer program in Buenos Aires that is open to all levels of Spanish. This would be a good option for you if you would prefer to take Spanish Language instead of the classes listed below, or if you are not at the High Intermediate or Advanced or Spanish levels. The 2 classes listed below are the only classes available through this program. It is a set curriculum; all students will take the 2 classes listed below. Students must have both classes pre-approved for credit by their home institution.
