2017 Summer Program: University of Edinburgh – Classes + Internship in Business in the Arts

Total contact hours: 90 for Business in the Arts courses.

15 contact hours = 1 semester credit; 10 contact hours = 1 quarter unit.

Students completing the full internship will be assigned a minimum of 250 hours of work.

Possible U.S. Credits: 6 – 10 semester credits for Business in the Arts courses and internship. Upon successful completion of the program, the University of Edinburgh transcript will assign 15 Scottish credits to the coursework and an additional 15 Scottish credits to the internship, for a total of 30 Scottish credits. Please contact your home institution to determine how your credits will transfer back.

Final transcript is issued by the University of Edinburgh.

ASA Summer Program in Edinburgh, Scotland

ASA is pleased to offer an award-winning Summer program in Edinburgh, where students take classes at the University of Edinburgh Business School, followed by a guaranteed month-long internship at the world-famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe!  This is an exciting opportunity and great resume builder for students interested in Theatre, Business in the Arts or other related fields.

All students MUST participate in both academic courses and the internship. Before you apply, please contact us if you require an early end date to return for Fall term classes on your home campus. Program fees will not be pro-rated for early end dates.

Core Courses: Business in the Arts I & Business in the Arts II

Course content is delivered through lectures in classrooms at the University of Edinburgh Business School and on-site at various locations related to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe throughout the city of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Courses will be taken in July, preceding the internship. Both courses are compulsory and include the following topics:

  • Ticketing


After finishing their classes at the University of Edinburgh, students will have a guaranteed internship at the world-famous Festival Fringe!
