University of the Arts London – Summer Course Offerings

Five of the colleges which comprise University of the Arts London are open to ASA students: Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins (CSM), London College of Communication (LCC), Chelsea College of Arts, and Wimbledon College of Arts.  Each college has a unique focus, approach, and degrees offered.   Summer courses at University of the Arts London are taken with a mix of American study abroad students, international students, and some British students.

Students attending a summer session at University of the Arts London will take 1 course per session and earn 5-8 semester credits (75-120 contact hours) during a 3-week term. Summer studies at University of the Arts London tend to be intensive, meeting 6-7 hours a day, Mon-Fri, for 3 weeks.  However, most students find the intensity of the academics to be quite stimulating! Studying abroad at UAL requires that the student be somewhat independent, as the coursework is more project based, as opposed to lecture based. While students will have plenty of guidance available from their instructors and may attend lectures and visits, much of the work is done independently.  Past students have reported that this teaching style gave them more freedom to create and explore than they had ever experienced before.

Students MUST have at least one alternate course from the same session approved by their home institution, in addition to their top choice, in case of changes in course availability.

Course offerings are subject to change. Below you can find a list of courses offered for the three Summer 2019 sessions at University of the Arts London.

Please note:  After clicking on the course you are interested (below), click “Description” for further information on what the course entails.  Courses at Central Saint Martins (especially in Fashion and Acting) tend to fill up early, so it is recommended you apply early if you are interested in a summer course at CSM.  Please note:  All applicants to the ASA program at University of the Arts London must have completed at least 1 year of undergraduate study before the program commences.
